Books or movies tend to portray werewolves as monsters where readers or viewers root for their demise. Which books or movies have werewolves as the protagonists, or good guys, instead? One good example would be the book Wolf Moon by Charles de Lint.
Any other ideas?

In the pore excuse for a book I am crafting out of thin air the main charecter is a werewolf who spends a lot of time helping people. if it ever gets complete I am sure you would enjoy it.

The main character of the stories/book I've written would be considered "the good guy". However, he IS a werewolf and unlike much of what is being published in print or via the internet, I gave him some teeth.

The Wolf's Hour, by Robert McCammon. Excellent book by the way. Set in WWII, he kills nazis.

I've heard of Wolf's Hour, but the others are totally new to me. Thanks for posting them; I'll be sure to check them out! Oh and If I may be so bold as to mention it here: I've got a new serial werewolf/shapeshifter novel that's about to have its first installment posted at thevindicad.blogspot.com/. It follows the very premise of this thread, so I just thought I'd drop the name. Cheers!

There would be "Blood & Chocolate" as well as the werewolf books by Lynn Hagen and J.L. Langley. There are plenty of werewolf a stories among the romance and erotic sections of literature.
In movies... well Blood & Chocolate as well. But it depends whether you make a distinction between the human and the wolf when you ask about werewolves as good guys.

The Werewolf Page is awesome! I am enjoying this site. If you want to read a heroic werewolf vs evil vampires and other supernatural creatures, you may be interested in my books Moonwarriors and Moonwarriors: Guardians of the Night. They are both Dark Fantasy with elements of horror, romance, action, adventure and paranormal. I am writing on my third novel in the series now. If you want to read about good werewolves, these books are for you. You can visit my website and read a excerpt of my new book. May the power of the wolf protect you. Thanks for reading my post.
